Heigan the Unclean (25 man) Empty Heigan the Unclean (25 man)

Post  Shakunimama Fri Mar 26, 2010 5:19 am

hi guys i am posting the solution for this MF Evil or Very Mad
Boss Abilities
25 Man - 9 275 000 HP
Melee hit - ~4500 on plate (8000 maximum)
Phase 1 Abilities

Spell Disruption - his is an aura around Heigan with a 20 yard range. It hits nearby enemies with a magic disruption effect, decreasing the casting speed of all affected targets by 300%. It's always on, which is why casters cannot stand near Heigan in phase 1. In phase 2, no one should be standing within 20 yards of Heigan anyway because of Plague Cloud (see below). So long as the main tank keeps Heigan far enough from the platform in phase 1, and the ranged stand towards the back of the platform, this ability is never an issue.

Heigan casting a spellDecrepit Fever - Every 20 seconds, Heigan hits anyone within 10 yards of him with this ability, which applies a disease that deals 4500 nature damage every 3 seconds and reduces maximum HP by 50%. It lasts for 21 seconds. Once cleansed of the disease, the targets will regain any HP lost to the HP reduction. The easiest way to deal with this is to have an enhancement shaman drop Disease Cleansing Totem and have 1 person dedicated to removing Decrepit Fever from the main tank as quickly as possible. Decrepit Fever can be cast during the transition from phase 2 to phase 1, hitting more members of the raid than normal. Have people assigned to cleanse it if this happens.

Eruption - Cracks in the floor erupt with a torrent of green plague goo, dealing 6650 to 7350 nature damage to nearby enemies. Eruption will come out of the cracks in the floor on three quarters of the entire room. It comes out of a different three quarters of the room each time, so there will be a designated area that is safe from Eruption each time it is cast. This safe area moves in a pattern that is constant and predictable. The entire raid will need to know this pattern and where it is safe to stand for each Eruption. Being hit by the green goo is survivable but, if you get hit by it once because you are lagging behind, it's likely that you will be hit by the next one (and probably the rest of them). Do not look at when the rest of the raid moves and do not wait for calls on voice comms to move. Each person must take responsibility for themselves and move when the Eruption dissipates on their screen. It is possible to heal someone taking damage from Eruption, but only with instant casts.

Phase 2 Abilities

Plague Cloud - This ability inflicts 7500 nature damage to enemy targets within 21 yards of Heigan. It is channeled constantly throughout phase 2 and ticks every 3 seconds to anyone within 21 yards of him. This ability is why the raid has to do the dance.

Eruption - A crack in the floor erupts with a torrent of plague, dealing 6650 to 7350 nature damage to nearby enemies. This is the same ability as in phase 1, only faster.

Heigan the Unclean (25 man) Empty Continuition

Strategy

The Pull
Have hunters Misdirect Heigan to your main tank or have him pull from range. Your healers and ranged DPS should move to stand where Heigan was before the pull to avoid Eruption and Spell Disruption. Do not worry about Spell Disruption here. The ranged and healers will get the debuff as they run past Heigan but as soon as they are in position they will be out of range of the aura and no longer be affected by it.

When you pull, the doors to Heigan's room will be sealed.

The Fight
This fight consists of 2 repeating phases. Through the first phase, Heigan is on the main tank and everyone will be DPSing him. the main tank and melee will need to move in order to avoid the Eruptions.

Phase 2 is the dance; Heigan will teleport back to his original location, start channeling Plague Cloud and the Eruptions will occur roughly every 3 seconds.

Phase 1 lasts approximately 90 seconds (or 8 Eruptions). Phase 2 is approximately 40 seconds (or 13 Eruptions), after which Heigan will run to resume his attack on the main tank and phase 1 will start over again.

Phase 1

Healing Assignments - Depending on the gear of your healers and main tank you will need 1-2 healers on the main tank and 2-3 on raid healing/cleansing for 25 man. For 10 man, you need 1-2 healers on the main tank and 1-2 on raid healing/cleansing.

Heigan the Unclean - phase 1 positions (zone 1)

The main tank and melee DPS will start the fight pulling Heigan into the area marked as Zone 1. This is the safe zone at the start of every phase. To avoid Spell Disruption, the ranged DPS and healers will move to where Heigan was standing before the pull. When Heigan casts Decrepit Fever on someone, those assigned to cleanse it need to do so immediately. After about 10 seconds, Heigan will cast his first Eruption.

Heigan the Unclean - phase 1 positions (zone 2)

At this time, the main tank needs to pull Heigan into the area marked Zone 2 (and the melee should follow).
Heigan the Unclean - phase 1 positions (zone 3)

After another 10 seconds, Heigan will cast another Eruption and the main tank will pull Heigan into the area marked Zone 3 (with the melee following each time). This will continue to happen for roughly 90 seconds. The main tank should keep Heigan away from the shaded zone as this will bring him close enough for the ranged to be affected by Spell Disruption.

Heigan the Unclean - phase 1 positions (zone 4)

The safe zone pattern for phase 1 is: 1-2-3-4-3-2-1-2.

After the last Eruption, Heigan will teleport to his original location. The healers and ranged need to run to Zone 1 with the main tank and melee and be prepared to start the dance.

Phase 2
Heigan the Unclean - phase 2 positions (zone 1)

After Heigan teleports to his starting platform, he will begin channeling Plague Cloud. Anyone who crosses into the Plague Cloud zone on the diagram will start to take ticks of 7500 nature damage from this. Roughly 5 seconds after Heigan teleports he will cast his first Eruption.

Heigan the Unclean - phase 2 positions (zone 2)

Each Eruption after this will be more than twice as fast as it was in phase 1. The only job in this phase, for the entire raid, is to survive.

Heigan the Unclean - phase 2 positions (zone 3)

There is no reason to DPS Heigan during this phase and risk getting killed. You only have time to move from one safe zone to the next.

Heigan the Unclean - phase 2 positions (zone 4)

The safe zone pattern for Phase 2 is: 1-2-3-4-3-2-1-2-3-4-3-2-1

After the last Eruption, Heigan will stop casting Plague Cloud and run to resume his attack on the main tank, restarting phase 1 with safe zone 1. Just like the main pull, you have about 10 seconds before the first Eruption. Also like the main pull, healers and ranged DPS will get hit with Spell Disruption, but as soon as everyone is in position the debuff will be gone and it will no longer be an issue.

Tips For The Dance
Take note that the areas are not of equal size. Zone 2 is much smaller than the other zones. This means that you will need to pause in zone 2 for a split second to keep from overshooting and getting caught in the next Eruption.

When you reach zones 1 or 4, there is no reason to continue running all the way to the exit or the entrance doorways. Cross the line and then wait for the Eruption and then run back over.

Do not wait for the raid to start moving before you move. Start moving as soon as the Eruption dissipates. With latency, it will look like most of your raid is going to get hit by the green goo, but don't worry about them. Focus on getting yourself from one zone to the next in time.

Undoubtedly someone will take damage from carelessness, latency or lack of coordination. This does not mean that they have to die. Healers can still heal with instant casts and Heals over Time. Feel free to cast them on the raid if you think you can do so while still making it safely from one zone to another.

This fight can be completed with very few people alive if most of your raid cannot do the dance properly. As long as the main tank, a few healers and a couple of DPS are up, it's not a wipe.

Unholy Aura is helpful for making it across zone 3 and into zone 2 alive but be careful because there is a pause in zone 2 that you do not want to overshoot. Aspect of the Pack is not recommended: if someone gets hit, the daze ensures that they will take at least one more Eruption and likely all of them until they die.

Heigan the Unclean
Class Tips
Main Tank: Make sure that you always position Heigan in where the melee can stand behind him and DPS while still being in the safe zone themselves. By strafing and running in an arc you can run at 100% speed from safe zone to safe zone without turning your back to Heigan. Maximize your threat generation in phase one as there is no aggro reset from phase to phase. Ranged DPS will most likely continue to use DoTs and instant casts so you need a safe margin of threat before phase 2 hits. Make sure not to pull Heigan too close to the ranged group in phase 1. You don't take much damage, but if the heals are coming 3 times slower your margin for error decreases dramatically.

Healers: Keep everyone topped off. The main tank and raid will not take much overall damage. If you don't bring an enhancement shaman make sure to assign people to cleanse Decrepit Fever, prioritising the main tank first.

Melee DPS: DPS as best you can while ensuring that you stay alive. Make sure you know where every Eruption is going to happen and don't get caught in one because the main tank didn't move Heigan far enough. Staying alive is as much your responsibility as the main tank's or the healers'.

Enhancement Shaman: Keep a Disease Cleansing Totem up. Make sure that there is one in range of the melee group at all times during phase 1.

Ranged DPS: DPS during phase 1, survive during phase 2. If you are a class that can cleanse diseases and you see one up for longer than a couple of seconds, cleanse it yourself.
