XT melees a well geared plate tank for anywhere between 20-30k damage on about a 2.5 second swing timer. This isn't a huge amount of damage (especially for tanks with block abilities to reduce the incoming damage, like a protection paladin, warrior, or bear druid) but it can be spiky since it varies so much. Consistent healing on the tank is necessary to prevent large spikes or "parry-haste" gibs. He has 22 million hit points on Heroic Mode (5 million in Normal Mode) and a Berserk timer of 10 minutes. Notably, his Berserk timer makes him immune to Taunt effects, meaning that he cannot be controlled by a Shield Walled tank and will quickly obliterate the raid with the +150% attack speed and +500% damage buff.

Tympanic Tantrum - Every 45 seconds XT will channel a 12 second spell called Tympanic Tantrum. He does not melee the tank while channeling, but instead causes the ground to shake, dazing all players and dealing 10% of maximum hit points per second in damage. This means that the entire raid must receive 20% or more of their maximum hit points in healing to even stay alive during this spell (and that is not counting raid damage from other sources).

XT-002 Deconstructor's heart exposedLight Bomb - XT charges a random player with light, causing them to deal 3,500 damage per tick (2,750 damage per tick in 10 man) to all friendly players within 10 yards of them. This cannot target the main tank, but can target off tanks handling Pummellers. Light Bomb is cast every 10 seconds and the debuff lasts for 9 seconds.

Gravity Bomb - XT turns a random player (he cannot target the MT) into a Gravity Bomb. After 9 seconds, the affected player will take 20,000 damage (18,000 in 10 man) and pull anyone within 9 yards towards him (this part of the ability is called Gravity Well). Because no damage is dealt, this isn't a big deal on the fight's easy mode, but becomes significant on hard mode, when the Gravity Bomb leaves behind a large void zone and being pulled into it is bad. Gravity Bomb is cast every 10 seconds.

Exposed Heart - Every 25% of his life, XT-002 will expose his "heart" while he regenerates energy. During this time he summons adds from the scrap piles at the corners of the yard. These adds are described below with their abilities. This Exposure phase lasts for 30 seconds, during which XT uses none of his other abilities and is not attackable. The Exposed Heart, however, takes double damage from all sources and any damage dealt to it will be transferred to XT when the Exposure Phase ends. If a raid manages to kill the Heart before the Exposure phase ends, XT's Heartbroken Mode is activated, which is the hard mode for the fight (the Heart has 7 million hit points in Heroic Mode - destroying it in 30 seconds requires approximately 120,000 raid DPS. In Normal Mode, it has 1.5 million HP).

XM-024 Pummeller
These are the large adds during the Exposure phase. Each Pummeller has ~570k hit points. Two of these spawn per Exposure and should be tanked in the red area indicated on the raid positioning diagram, facing away from the rest of the raid (on rare occasions only one Pummeller spawns during an Exposure phase; it is not known what causes this. The normal number is two). These hit a well geared tank for 2.5-4k per swing on a 2 second swing timer.

Arcing Smash - This ability deals normal weapon damage (~3k on plate vs. ~7k on cloth) to any enemies within 5 yards in front of the Pummeller. It is used every 10-15 seconds.

Trample - This ability deals weapon damage to all players within 10 yards of the Pummeller. This can be parried, dodged, or blocked like any melee attack. It simply needs to be healed through on the melee. It is cast every ~20 seconds.

Uppercut - This is a knockback used on the Pummeller's tank, knocking them back 30-40 yards and dealing normal weapon damage. Its cooldown is 45 seconds - each Pummeller rarely gets to use this more than once.

XS-013 Scrapbot
Many of these small repair bots spawn during each Exposure. They cannot be aggroed, but instead run towards XT-002 and attempt to heal him when they reach him. Each bot that reaches XT heals him for 1% of his life total. These bots need to be snared or rooted and AoE'd down by the raid. Each Scrapbot has between 20,000 and 30,000 life (the value varies) and 50 Scrapbots spawn (in random amounts per corner) during each Exposure Phase.

Scrap Repair - The Scrapbot heals XT-002 for 1% of his total hit points (~150,000 HP) upon reaching him. This ability appears to be cast by XT in the combat log, but this only happens when a Scrapbot is in range.

XE-321 Boombot
These very recognizable bomb robots waddle towards XT-002 and explode on arrival, dealing ~15,000 damage to anyone within 10 yards. They have 50,000 hit points. As described below, they should be slowed, rooted, or stunned in place and then killed by ranged DPS in the AoE pits. When they die, they also explode, dealing the same amount of damage to any players or NPCs nearby, including scrapbots. This means that the most effective "use" of the Boombots is to root them and then explode them (by killing them) when a bunch of Scrapbots are nearby, making the AoEing of the Scrapbots much easier.

Boom! - Explodes on death or upon reaching XT-002, dealing ~15,000 damage to any unit, friendly or enemy, within 10 yards.

XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct Empty Re: XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct

Active Phase
When XT-002 is active, the fight strongly resembles a standard tank and DPS encounter with the additional elements of movement from XT's two random abilities and the massive raid damage caused by Tympanic Tantrum. The raid positioning diagram clearly indicates how these abilities are to be handled: players with Light Bomb run to stand in the light circle on the left side of the diagram, while players with Gravity Well run to stand in the dark purple circle on the right side of the diagram. This provides players with an instant place to run to if they are targeted by one of these abilities, and prevents the raid from having to reposition around them. It also makes their locations obvious to healers, who have a difficult job keeping them alive during Tympanic Tantrum.

While the DPS players in the raid merely have to hit their buttons hard during this phase, healers have a much more complex job. Healing assignments should divvy up the healers into three main groups: melee+tank healing, ranged healing, and debuff healing. Split the healers up so that each part of the raid is covered during Tympanic Tantrum: Use shamans with Chain Heal and priests with Prayer o Mending for melee while druids and Circle of Healing priests handle the ranged portions of the raid. Meanwhile, paladins are optimal for the third assignment, which is to heal the players off in the "circles" taking damage from either Light Bomb or Gravity Well. Since the single 20k explosion of Gravity Well can nearly kill most players, it is essential that the debuffed person be kept completely topped off during Tympanic Tantrum, and that heals land immediately before and after the Gravity Bomb explodes. Because of this, assigning a large heal healer such as a paladin, or a shield based healer like a discipline priest, is very important to keeping all members of the raid alive.

Note: XT-002 can cast Light Bomb or Gravity Well on players even while he is channeling his Tantrum - players must still pay attention and be ready to move away quickly, and healers should pay especial attention to the possibility of a Light Bomb on the melee stack. A dazed melee cannot escape very quickly and a Light Bomb will deal large amounts of damage to every melee player before the affected person can get out of range.

XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct Empty Re: XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct

Post  Shakunimama Wed Apr 14, 2010 12:23 am

Exposure Phase
Every 25% of his HP, XT-002 talks about how he will "rest for just a moment." He kneels down and his Exposed Heart becomes targetable, hanging down from his chest. This Heart has 7 million hit points and takes double damage during the Exposure phase. Killing the Heart completely in one Exposure begins XT's hard mode, which is discussed elsewhere. Any damage done to the Heart in this phase transfers to XT as well, and so for the first 10-15 seconds of the Exposure Phase, melee and ranged DPS should attack the Heart while XT starts to spawn adds. Since the adds begin to arrive as the Exposed Heart debuff is ending, the MT should simply stay with the melee stack and DPS the Heart until XT becomes active again.

While crouched down, XT will fire lightning bolts at the various scrap piles in the corners. This summons 2 Pummellers, 4-6 Boombots, and 50 Scrapbots. They behave as described in their individual sections above, and handling them is the second part of the Exposure Phase. See the positioning diagram (the light blue areas and labels) for positioning details. The diagram has four identical paths from each scrap pile that indicate how each bot type is to be handled:

1. Pummeller should be picked up by the OT or Misdirected to him. He pulls them to the marked red area away from the rest of the raid, where they are killed by melee DPS before returning to DPSing XT. The melee DPS should break off from DPSing the Exposed Heart as soon as the Pummellers are tanked in the designated spot.

2. Boombots should be rooted, stunned, or slowed as they reach the light blue "AoE pit" area on their path towards XT. When they explode, they deal massive damage to any nearby units, including players, Scrapbots, and (if they are near him) XT-002. This means that they should be killed while snared in the midst of the field of Scrapbots, who are typically slower to reach XT than the Boombots are.

3. Scrapbots should be AoE'd down as they move toward XT. The light blue areas on each path indicate an approximate "AoE pit", but the most important thing is that no Scrapbot ever reaches XT to heal him. As noted above, blowing up rooted or snared Boombots will destroy nearby Scrapbots. To most effectively do this phase, guilds should root, snare, stun, or Death Grip Boombots in the middle of a large pack of Scrapbots. Kill the Boombot, and all the Scrapbots will explode with it (or be very close to dead).

After all the adds from an exposure phase are dead, players should return to DPSing XT. If your DPS is good, you should have done around 10-20% extra damage to XT during the Exposure Phase (via damage to his Heart) and will only have 5-15% more to go before he hits 50%, which will begin a second Exposure Phase anew. Simply repeat the above process three times and XT should die easily.

Note that XT-002 has a Berserk timer of 10 minutes. This means that DPSing the Heart during Exposure phases is essentially required in order to beat the Berserk - don't stand around at the beginning of the Exposure phase, go nuts on the Exposed Heart! It takes double damage which transfers to XT-002. It is best to deal as much damage as possible to the Heart during this phase and then clean up adds only when necessary; the fight becomes much quicker when done this way.

Control the adds and do good damage and you'll have cleaned up the Scrapyard for good!

10 Man Strategy Note
On Normal Mode, the raid strategy follows the exact same pattern as on Heroic Mode - nothing about the fight changes except a lower number of adds to deal with during each Exposure Phase. The fight is somewhat more forgiving because the ranged DPS and healers are free to spread out so that they never hit one another with Light Bomb or Gravity Well. This will reduce movement necessary, which makes healing much easier during Tympanic Tantrum, especially if your raid has just two healers.

XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct Empty Re: XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct

Post  Shakunimama Wed Apr 14, 2010 12:23 am

Heartbreaker - XT-002 Hard Mode
XT-002's hard mode is "activated" by destroying his Exposed Heart during the exposure phase at 75% (or 50% or 25%, for that matter...but doing so late makes the fight nearly impossible). When the Exposed Heart is completely killed, XT-002 gains a buff called "Heartbreak" and the entire fight changes, as described below.

Heartbreak - XT-002 heals to full and gains 150% of his hit points. This means that his new hit point total is 55 million (on heroic mode) or 12.5 million (on normal mode). His Berserk timer remains at 10 minutes; if you took 1:15 to bring him to 75% and kill the Exposed Heart, you now have 8:45 remaining to finish the fight. In addition, XT's damage is increased by 35%, including the damage dealt by Tympanic Tantrum.

Life Spark - When a player's Light Bomb fades, a new mob called Life Spark spawns on the location where the player was standing. These Life Sparks have abilities detailed below and need to be tanked and killed every time a Light Bomb finishes ticking.

Void Zone - When a player's Gravity Bomb explodes, they now leave behind an 8 yard radius Void Zone which deals damage to players who stand in it. Gravity Bombs still pull nearby players toward them; now into a newly spawned Void Zone. Void Zones deal 7,500 damage per second to players standing in them on heroic mode, and 5,000 damage per second on normal mode.

Life Spark Abilities
Life Sparks have 100k hit points on normal mode and 364k HP on heroic mode. They have normal aggro mechanics and should be tanked as described later (by a separate tank on heroic mode, or by the MT on normal mode.)

Shock - Rather than normal melee attacks, Life Sparks replace their melee with a Chain Lightning-style ability called Shock, which hits their tank for nature damage. The ability tooltip says that it also hits other targets in melee range, but in practice this does not actually happen. This ability deals ~10-12k damage on normal mode and ~15-16k damage on heroic mode.

Static Charged - The Life Spark AoEs the entire raid for nature damage every 3 seconds. The range on this AoE is 500 yards and it cannot be outranged or avoided. It deals 800 damage per 3 seconds on normal mode and 2000 damage per 3 seconds on heroic mode.

Exposure Phases
XT's heart has been severed from his body, and as such he no longer enters Exposure Phases as he does during the easy mode of the fight. This means there are no adds to deal with beyond the very first wave (from the initial Exposure Phase). These adds should be cleaned up normally, but the rest of the fight you won't have to deal with any Scrapbots, Boombots, or Pummellers.

Raid Strategy
The strategy for this fight lies mostly in good coordination of the raid as XT applies his twin debuffs, and in good healing on the two tanks and the rest of the raid during Tympanic Tantrum.

XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct Empty Re: XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct

Post  Shakunimama Wed Apr 14, 2010 12:24 am

The entire raid should maintain their positioning from the easy mode of the fight. Players who get Gravity Bomb run out to the Gravity Bomb side and pick an open space in which to "lay" their new void zone. By the end of the fight there will be a lot of these void zones littering the ground - be careful to watch for them as you run out for each new Gravity Bomb. Sometimes Void Zones will despawn after a few minutes, but others stay up for the entire fight - it is not known what causes this behavior!

Meanwhile, the Light Bomb player should move up to the Off Tank's spot (where Pummellers are tanked on the fight's easy mode). Here he should stand just out of Light Bomb range of the MT. When the Light Bomb finishes, this player will release a Life Spark. This needs to be Taunted, either by the off tank on heroic mode, or by the MT on normal mode (since no off tank is necessary on the 10 man version of the hard mode). All DPS should immediately switch to the Life Spark and DPS it down as quickly as possible. If a player pulls aggro on the Life Spark before it dies, a hunter should Distracting Shot the Life Spark. This will pull the slow-moving Life Spark towards the hunter, and it should die before it reaches melee range (which is required for it's main Shock attack, as described above). After each Life Spark is dead, return to DPSing XT-002.

Note: If the Life Spark is spawned during a Tympanic Tantrum, a retribution paladin, rogue, or feral druid should keep the Life Spark stunned as long as possible during the Tympanic Tantrum to reduce outgoing damage on the raid group (and especially the Life Spark's tank). This is not 100% essential, but does reduce the possibility of spike damage during a difficult portion of the fight.

With the adds and Exposure Phases removed from the fight, the strategy essentially boils down to debuff control and Life Spark management: you must do enough DPS to quickly kill each Life Spark before it deals too much damage to the raid, and also have enough DPS to kill XT-002 in the meantime. It goes without saying that players can't mess up their debuffs; if a stray player doesn't notice their Light Bomb or Gravity Bomb, they'll surely deal a lot of extra damage to the raid and likely kill themselves or someone else.

Once you've killed the Exposed Heart, you'll have between 8.5 and 9 minutes left to work through XT's very high hit point total and kill every Life Spark he creates. The DPS timer before XT goes Berserk is incredibly strict, and probably the most difficult part of the fight, beyond even the extreme healing required. At the same time, it's not possible to just stack DPS and leave out healers, because Tympanic Tantrum and Life Spark damage are both significant and place considerable strain on even the best raid healing crew. It's a fine balance and the fight is considered incredibly hard because of this, especially on heroic mode (on normal mode the fight is still not trivial, but the tuning is much more forgiving than on the 25-man version).

XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct Empty Re: XT-002 Deconstructor (25 Man) Feel free to correct

Post  Mantronix Sun Apr 18, 2010 6:42 am

T-002 Deconstructor is mostly a straight-forward fight. He has two Phases - Boss phase (Phase 1) and Heart phase (Phase 2). He will begin the fight in his Boss phase and switch to Heart phase for every 25% of his health lost (unless he is in his hard mode). XT-002 will be inactive during heart phases, which last 30 seconds each. His Hard Mode can also be activated during any one of the Heart phases.

When he is in Phase 1, the raid will need to stay close to each other, while the person charged with Searing Light/Gravity Bomb runs away. The occasional Tympanic Tantrums will damage all players for almost their maximum health, so healers will need to be well assigned, and no player be left without a healer for the 8 seconds duration of the spell. Players with Searing Light or Gravity Bomb during the Tantrums will need extra heals.

XT-002 will enter Phase 2 whenever his health reaches 75%, 50%, and 25%. During this phase he will be unattackable and three kinds of adds will spawn - XM-024 Pumellers (melee), XS-013 Scrapbots (healers), and XE-321 Boombots (exploders). Pumellers should simply be tanked and killed; Scrapbots will head directly towards XT-002 and heal him if they get to him, so they need to be killed quickly; Boombots will also follow normal aggro table, but will explode when their health reaches zero, damaging players and NPCs in proximity. XT-002's Hard Mode can be unlocked during any of the Heart phases (although the first one is most convenient). His heart is exposed during this phase and can be damaged; as long as it is not destroyed, XT-002 will take double the damage done to the heart after the Phase ends. It is absolutely possible to force XT to enter a second Heart phase right after the first one has ended, if you inflict enough damage.
*
Tympanic Tantrum - Damages everybody for 10% of their maximum hit points every 1 second, for 8 seconds. This is a channeled spell, which also dazes the affected targets for 2 seconds.
*
Searing Light - Causes the target to inflict 3,000 (25 Players: 3,500) damage to the target and other players within 10 yards every 1 second, for 9 seconds.
*
Gravity Bomb - Causes the target to spawn a Gravity Bomb after 9 seconds, which damages the target for 12,000 (25 Players: 15,000) and pulls other players within 12 yards and inflicts them with 11,700 to 12,300 (25 Players: 14,625 to 15,375) Shadow damage.
*
Heart Phase: At 75%, 50%, and 25% XT's Heart of the Deconstructor will become exposed and attackable. It will leak energy, which summons adds - Pummellers, Scrapbots and Boombots. During this 30-second Phase XT will take 100% extra damage through his heart and won't attack.
o
XM-024 Pummeller - Attack with Arcing Smash, Trample, and Uppercut.
o
XS-013 Scrapbot - Run to XT and cause him to restore 1% health per Scrapbot, through Scrap Repair.
o
XE-321 Boombot - Explode on death, inflicting damage to nearby players and NPCs.

Hard Mode
XT-002 Deconstructor's Hard Mode can be activated during any of the Add Phases. Destroying the exposed Heart of the Deconstructor will heal XT-002 to 100%, stop any adds from spawning and give him several new abilities:

*
Heartbreak - Increases XT-002's damage by 15% and hit points by 50% (25 Player: 60%).
*
Void Zone - Causes Gravity Bomb to spawn a Void Zone, which inflicts 5,000 (25 Player: 7,500) damage to players standing in it. Void Zones exist for 3 minutes.
*
Life Spark - Causes Light Bomb to spawn a Life Spark.
1.
Life Spark - Casts Static Charged, which inflicts 500 Nature damage to the entire raid every 3 seconds.
